Antman

About

Antman have used words and images to challenge, advocate and inspire since 1999.

Grounded in the disciplines of graphic design and art direction, our approach to communication design was tested in the unforgiving arena of television, film and production. For larger projects and more specific tasks we draw on a pool of award-winning talent.

Antman 1:1000 is a specialist photographic service. A collaboration with five of the UK’s leading photographers, it provides engaging visual content for brands. One image really can be ‘worth a thousand words’.

Who we are

Sara Woollcombe – art director, graphic designer – brings a perspective based on her multi-disciplinary experience gained working on award-winning teams for BBC news and current affairs, music and arts, and the natural history unit. She formed an integral part of the team that set up BBC Arabic, which laid the foundations for Al Jazeera. Her commercial clients have included Emporio Armani and Virgin Atlantic.

Alex Stannus – art director, producer – has worked alongside organisations such as BT, INMARSAT, Logica and The Institute of Education. It’s very likely he was the first person to use a digital camera and upload the images via satellite direct to a website from a remote location. An Associate Laureate of the Rolex Awards for Enterprise and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society he designed his first website in the dark ages of 1995. His most recent credits are for his work as location art director for BBC/HBO His Dark Materials, seasons 1, 2 and, currently, 3.
