Talking rights
“Our publications received plaudits across the sectors in which we operate and it was great to be seen to be punching above our weight.” Dr Jim Parker, OBE, Registrar, PLR
Public Lending Right collects data and administers a central fund from which payments are made to writers for the loan of their books from libraries. In the face of hard cuts to their operating budget, PLR turned to Antman to help reduce costs in their published output but maintain a platform affirming the role of writing in the creative economy. Editions of Writers Talk, a small paperback devised by Antman, included contributions from Hilary Mantel, Tracy Chevalier, Michael Holroyd and Deborah Moggach. That PLR remains in robust health may be due in part to this modest yet punchy production.
